About me
Katy McCormack is Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Dance Teacher in the Richmond community. In 2024, she graduated from VCU with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling and began working at VCU’s Collegiate Recovery program, Rams in Recovery as a C-PRS. As a person and artist in recovery, Katy has found a passion in using art and movement for healing and creating community with others. Katy has a decade of experience teaching dance and has a passion for working with those newer to the art who are looking for a way to connect mind, body, and soul, and empower themselves through movement and feeling at home in their bodies. As a dancer, Katy has always felt more comfortable using movement to process and express her thoughts and feeling and hopes to facilitate spaces for others to do the same.
